a fun weekend!

We started our weekend a little early and headed to my mom and dad's house on Thursday afternoon. We were trying to cut our driving time down a little by breaking it up. Friday afternoon we headed down to Bloomington/Normal to our friends Nathan and Julie's to celebrate Nathan's 30th birthday! We had a lot of fun catching up and visiting with our friends and the boys had a great time, too! We were also able to see our friends Justin and Sarah. We slept over at Nathan and Julie's, they are so brave, and then headed to Morton Saturday morning.

We visited Rob's brother and his wife Saturday morning and had lunch with them. They have 2 boys, Griffin and Ian, so it was nice to see them, too. Then we headed to Tremont for our annual Labor Day trip to Ed and Wendi Rumbold's house. We get together with 7 families, friends from college, every Labor Day at the Rumbold estates. They have a lot of land and space for everyone. It's a good thing because between the 7 families we have 20 kids.....yes 20! This will be the last year with everyone because the Rumbolds are heading to Slovakia to be missionaries. We will have to find a new place to carry the tradition next year.

Sunday morning we left the Rumbolds and headed to Champaign to meet our old neighbors Michael and Barbara for lunch. The boys spent a lot of time with Barbara when we lived in Charleston and we miss her dearly. It was so great to visit with them and spend some time together and as you can see in the photo the boys really do adore Barbara.

We headed back to my parents place Sunday afternoon and spent the night and then headed home Monday evening after dinner. We had a very busy weekend but enjoyed every minute.
